This is an Aluminum Dynamics (ADL) Internship. What Does ADL Do?
Aluminum Dynamics is developing a state-of-the-art, 650,000-tonne low-carbon recycled aluminum flat rolled mill, supported by two satellite recycled aluminum slab centers. The facility will produce a wide range of flat rolled aluminum products while prioritizing sustainability through advanced recycling practices. Our product offering includes value-added finishing lines such as Continuous Annealing and Solution Heat treatment (CASH) lines, continuous coating, and multiple slitting and packaging operations. This combination of cutting-edge technology and sustainable processes positions Aluminum Dynamics as a leader in delivering high-quality, low-carbon aluminum solutions to meet the growing demands of diverse industries.
What Makes This Internship Different?
This internship is unique compared to other software development internships because instead of creating software to be sold to external companies, interns at SDI develop and debug applications that directly serve our internal customers. This means interns work closely with employees across the company, particularly those in operations, to understand their day-to-day needs and challenges. By building software that improves internal processes and supports SDI’s workforce, interns gain firsthand experience in creating practical solutions while developing strong relationships with internal customers. This direct interaction not only strengthens communication and problem-solving skills but also provides valuable insight into how technology supports a large-scale manufacturing environment.
Internship Location
This internship is located at the Aluminum Dynamics, LLC. facility located in Columbus, MS, in the IT Department. This internship will take place Summer 2026.
